ספר חדש המתאר את הפעילות החינוכית של תנועת רפורמה בארה"ב הפועלת לשינוי בתי ספר והפיכתם לבתי ספר אמנותיים. תנועת רפורמה פדגוגית זו אינה סבורה כי רפורמה ארגונית גרידא יכולה לשנות מהות ביה"ס. רק רפורמה של תכנים ויצירה  בביה"ס עשויה להביא שינויים ממשיים ואקלים כיתה חיובי.
הספר מתאר את  החזון והפעילות ליצירת רפורמה  פדגוגית בארה"ב הידועה בשם A+ School Program שנועדה לחזק את הצדדים האמנותיים-איכותיים של בתי ספר תיכוניים.
המטרה היא  לחזק את זהות בית הספר באמצעות מגמות אמנות ופעילויות אמנותיות יצירתיות שיאפשרו הן לתלמידים והן למורים למצוא עניין ואתגר בחיי ביה"ס.  מחברי הספר הם פרופסורים לסוציולוגיה וחוקרי חינוך בארה"ב.  פרויקט הרפורמה בבתי התיכוניים הידוע בשם A+ School Program מופעל במדינת מיסורי בארה"ב ונועד לחולל שינוי איכותי בבתי הספר ובאווירה וביחס הלומדים ולא בהכרח בצדדים הארגוניים שהיו מקובלים ע"י רפורמות אחרות בעבר .

H. Dickson Corbett is an Independent Educational Researcher conducting evaluations of school reform initiatives.
Bruce L. Wilson is an Independent Educational Researcher engaged in longitudinal research and evaluation projects focused on improving teaching and learning conditions in schools with populations of high poverty.
