הסברת תפקיד תכנית הלימודים בקבלת החלטות על ידי מורים

כיתות הן סביבות בלתי צפויות ומפתיעות. מורים מלמדים תלמידים הבאים מרקעים, מתרבויות ומהתנסויות חיים שונות, בעלי תחומי עניין והנעות מגוונים, ובעלי רמות שונות של שליטה בשפה, מיומנויות ויכולות (Dozier & Smith, 2016). כדי לנווט סביבות אלה ולתת לתלמידים חינוך איכותי על מורים להיות גמישים ויצירתיים בסיגול ההוראה להקשרים אלה. בעשורים האחרונים חוקרים דנו, העלו תיאוריות וחקרו הוראה מסגלת ואפיוניה (Parsons, 2012, Hoffman & Duffy, 2016).

הוראה אדפטיבית/מסגלת –  בהפעלת הוראה מסגלת המורים מסגלים ומתאימים את ההוראה לצרכים חברתיים, לשוניים, תרבותיים והוראתיים של תלמידיהם. לא מפתיע שיכולות אלה מקובלות כאבני יסוד של הוראה אפקטיבית (Vagle, 2016, Borko & Livingston, 1989). במחקרים שכללו תצפיות במורים מצטיינים/מומחים נמצא שהם בעלי יכולות סיגול (Allington, 2015, Bauman, 2008 Williams &). גם סטנדרטים לבחינת איכות מורים משקפים גישה זו (CCSSO, 2011, Danielson, 2011). בסקירת מחקר שכללה מעל 800 מחקרים בתחום (Hattie, 2009) נמצא כי "מורים אפקטיביים הם בעלי ידע תוכן פדגוגי גמיש ומחדש יותר; הם בעלי יכולות גבוהות יותר של אילתור ושינוי הוראה בתגובה למאפיינים הקשריים של מצבי כיתה...הם יכולים לאלתר ביתר קלות כשדברים אינם מתנהלים באופן חלק" (שם, 261). גישת ההוראה האדפטיבית/המסגלת זכתה בשדה המחקר והמעשה לשמות שונים ובהם: "הוראה מגיבה"(Dozier et al., 2011), "אימפרוביזציה" (Sawyer, 2004), "קבלת החלטות" (Griffith & Atkinson, 2013) ו"הוראה דיאלוגית" (Boyd, 2012).

לנוכח  ההטרוגניות של אוכלוסיות התלמידים כיום, והעליה במורכבות ההוראה בכיתה בהתייחס לסטנדרטים חדשים, הצורך להבין יכולות סיגול של מורים והשפעותיהן חיוני ביותר (Gvirz & Beech, 2015).

מסגרת מושגית לניתוח המחקרים שבסקירה – 1. קונסטרוקטיביזם חברתי (Vygotsky, 1978) – הוראה מסגלת בנויה חברתית כשמורים חושבים חשיבה רפלקטיבית על צרכי תלמידיהם לפני, במהלך ואחרי ההוראה.  2. מטקוגניציה של מורים (Duffy et al., 2009) – כשמורים עוקבים אחר ההבנות של תלמידיהם עליהם לעקוב גם אחרי חשיבתם הם כדי להחליט כיצד להתאים את ההוראה לצורכי התלמידים, עליהם להיות מטקוגניטיביים.  שתי אלה הן התפיסות התיאורטיות שבסיס החשיבה והניתוח של הוראה מסגלת של הכותבים ובבסיס הסינתזה המוצגת כאן. עם זאת נעשה שימוש גם במחקרים שהתבססו על תפיסות תיאורטיות אחרות.

 

מה נמצא בסקירה?

  • שאלת מחקר ראשונה: לאורך זמן, כיצד המשיגו חוקרים הוראה מסגלת ובאילו מערכי מחקר השתמשו לצורך כך?

א. הכותבים סוקרים את התפתחות התפיסה החל משנת 1975. נביא כאן את רק ממצאים לשנים 2005 – 2014:

  1. בעשור זה בולט מיקוד בצרכים של תלמידים מאוכלוסיות שהיו מודרות היסטורית (Phillips & Schweisfurth, 2014) כולל בהיבטים תרבותיים ולשוניים (Kena, et al., 2015),
  2. זוויות ראייה חברתיות וביקורתיות שעלו בשנים קודמות ממשיכות להופיע ולהיחקר (Apple et al., 2009),
  3. מבחנים עתירי-סיכון, שיטות הערכה מירכוזיות ואחריותיות נוכחים במחקרים גם בתקופה זו (Lingard et al., 2013),
  4. הערכת אפקטיביות המורה נוכחת בהדגשה במחקרים בתקופה זו (Robertson, 2016),
  5. ניכרת צמיחה גדולה במחקרים העוסקים בהוראה-מסגלת בהשוואה לעשורים קודמים. המחקרים בוצעו תוך שימוש ב-14 שיטות מחקר שונות. בחלק מהמחקרים נעשה שימוש בשמות אחרים להוראה מסגלת ובהם "קבלת החלטות", "מתן פיגומים", "הוראה מגיבה", אימפרוביזציה", "קבלת החלטות" והוראה דיאלוגית".
  6. שיטות המחקר נמצאו מגוונות ביותר ונגזרו מפרדיגמות כמותיות ואיכותניות.
  • שאלת מחקר שניה: מהם הממצאים של המחקרים שנסקרו?
  1. גורמים המקדמים הפעלה של הוראה-מסגלת - מדובר בהתנסויות או מצבים המאפשרים למורים לסגל את ההוראה לצרכי הכיתה והתלמידים. בין הגורמים נמנו: הערכה - הערכת למידת תלמידים; גישה הקשרית-הוראתית כמו מידת האוטונומיה ההוראתית הניתנת למורים ומאפשרת להם לקבל החלטות בהתייחסות לצרכי הכיתה והתלמידים (Griffith et al., 2013); התפתחות מקצועית - התפתחות מקצועית ובה אימון, חונכות, הפעלת יוזמות וקורסים אחרים חיזקה מורים ביכולות סיגול וגם בידע תוכן פדגוגי, בטחון עצמי ותחושת זהות מקצועית (Asaf & Lopez, 2012; Vogt & Rogalla, 2009; Lee et al., 2014).
  2. גורמי מורה הקשורים להוראה-מסגלת – הגורמים שעלו מן המחקרים שנסקרו היו: אמונות מורים - אמונות בדבר תפקיד המורה, תפקיד התוכן הנלמד ועוד נמצאו משפיעות על שיפור יכולות הוראה מסגלת (Farrell, 2006); ניסיון וידע מורים – נמצאו אף הם משפיעים כנ"ל. בחקר מקרה של שני מורים – ותיק וצעיר- נמצא, באמצעות רפלקציות כתובות, שהוותיק היה בעל מומחיות גדולה יותר שכן היו לו ידע פדגוגי וניסיון הוראתי רבים יותר (Hayden et al., 2013); חשיבת מורים - הגורם הנפוץ ביותר שכולל רפלקציה ומטקוגניציה המשפיעות על יכולות אדפטציה של ההוראה.
  3. אופי ההוראה המסגלת – מחקרים רבים מאלה שנסקרו כללו התייחסויות ל"איך" ול"למה" שבהפעלת הוראה מסגלת ע"י מורים: א. תקדימים ושיקולי דעת - מורים בחרו בגישת הסיגול כי בכך נענו לצרכי למידה והבנה של תלמידים, הגיבו למוטיבציות ותחומי עניין של תלמידים והגיבו על התנהגות תלמידים;  ב. טיפולוגיות של אדפטציות – הדרך הנפוצה ביותר נמצאה כוללת שאלות, הערכות, חיזוקים, דיגום, ניהול, הסבר, מתן משוב, הצבת אתגרים ו/או יצירת קשרים. דרכים אלה קשורות לעקרונות ליבה של קונסטרוקטיביזם וחשיבת מורים ומאירות כיצד מורים מסגלים חושבים, מהרהרים ומגיבים למשתנים מצביים בכיתה (Gillies & Boyle, 2006).
  4. גורמים המעכבים הוראה מסגלת – מחסומים אלה כללו התנסויות או מצבים שהכשילו אדפטיביות של הוראה והופיעו רק בארבעה מהמאמרים שנסקרו: תוכניות/תכנון לימודים, סטנדרטים או מבחנים עתירי-סיכון - העדר או הגבלה של אוטונומיה בבית הספר או סטנדרטים בית-ספריים מחייבים גרמו להוראה של תכנים בלתי מתאימים התפתחותית לתלמידים ופגעו ביכולות אדפטציה הוראתית, וכך גם לגבי המבחנים ( Stevens & Van Houtte, 2011). ייתכן שמיעוט זה משקף עדיפות לפרסום הצלחות ותוצרים חיוביים (Torgerson et al., 2017).
  5. השפעות של הוראה מסגלת - מחקרים הציגו ניתוחים של תוצרי תלמידים שכללו הישגים אקדמיים ולא-אקדמיים. המחקרים בוצעו במגוון שיטות מחקר. הממצאים חיוביים ועשירים אך רק מעט נכתב על כך. באחד המחקרים נבנה כלי למדידת יכולת הוראה מסגלת שכלל תגובות מורים לאירועי תכנון הוראה כתובים ולקטעי שיעור מצולמים. תגובות המורים דורגו על פי ההמשגה של "הוראה מסגלת": ידע תחום דעת, איבחון, שיטות הוראה וניהול כיתה. נמצא שיכולת זו לא השפיעה ישירות על הישגי תלמידים, אך איכות ההוראה תווכה השפעה זו (Brühwiler & Blatchford, 2011).

 

סיכום

א. הוראה מסגלת - רפלקציה ומטקוגניציה הם "מושגים חופפים, כוללים שיקולים של התנסויות וידע המארגנים את החשיבה . הוראה היא "מקצוע ההוראה ובאמצעות חשיבה ורפלקציה על ידע, אמונות ותהליכים ניתן להפעיל הוראה-מסגלת לתמיכה ולהיענות לצרכים לשוניים, תרבותיים והוראתיים של התלמידים ולקידומם (Brühwiler & Blatchford, 2011). ידע מורה על תוכן, פדגוגיה ותלמידים צומח כל הזמן ורפלקציה מטקוגניטיבית היא אמצעי ראשון במעלה המאפשר התפתחות זו (Duffy et al., 2009).

ב. חשיבת מורים – מן הניתוח עולה עניין מתרחב במטקוגניציה (Griffith et al., 2013), וקישור מתבקש לתפיסות קוגניטיביות ששלטו במדעי החברה בשנות ה-70 וה-80 יותר מאשר לזוויות ראייה חברתיות-תרבותיות שעלו בשנות ה-90 וה-2000. לדעת הכותבים זהו ביטוי לחוזקו של גוף הידע המחקרי לפיו חוקרים המביאים זוויות ראייה שונות חוקרים את התופעה ומעשירים את הידע המחקרי הצבור.

ג. הרחבת העניין המחקרי בהוראה מסגלת - במהלך הזמן מספר המחקרים שעסקו בהוראה מסגלת הלך וגדל. לדעת הכותבים צמיחה זו משקפת עניין גובר בנושא, ייתכן שכתוצאה משינוי בזוויות ראייה המציבות מורים כשחקנים מטקוגניטיביים במצבים חברתיים מורכבים (Kamil, 2016). תהליך זה העלה את העניין ביכולות סיגול של מורים ובמיקוד באיכות מורה (Robertson, 2016). התרחבות מספר כתבי העת המפרסמים מחקרים בחינוך הלך וגדל, דבר שתרם אף הוא לתמונה בכללה.

ד. שיטות מחקר - עם הצמיחה במספר המאמרים העוסקים בהוראה–מסגלת התגוונו גם שיטות ההוראה שננקטו במחקרים. עם הזמן ניכר מעבר משיטות כמותיות בעיקר לחקרי מקרה ולמחקר איכותני המשקפים את השינויים הפרדיגמטיים והתיאורטיים שהתרחשו בתקופה זו. שכיח ביותר במחקרי הוראה מסגלת הוא מיקוד בגורמים הקשריים ומצביים (Vaughn & Parsons, 2013).

ה. דגם לחשיבה ומחקר של יכולת אדפטציה של מורים בעקבות ניתוח המאמרים -  הדגם מתאר כיצד הוראה מסגלת מתרחשת בהקשרים המורכבים שלכיתה ומושפעת מהתנסויות חברתיות-היסטוריות של תלמידים ומורים. הדגם משקף את האופי המורכב, המעגלי והרב-ממדי של הוראה מגלת ויכול לתמוך במחקרים עתידיים.
